Three (3) sachets containing suspected shabu were recovered from a waitress during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of Police Station 1 around 11:50PM June 10 at Domingo Veloso Avenue, Brgy. Doña Feliza Mejia, Ormoc City.
Police Station 1 (PS1) Chief-of-Police (COP) Police Major Michael Duran identified the suspect as Emily Comilang, alias ‘Len-len’, 43, with live-in partner, a waitress and a resident of Purok Daisy, Brgy. Punta, this city.
Recovered from the suspect was one (1) sachet containing white crystalline substances suspected to be shabu procured by an agent worth P1000.00. During the body search witnessed by Punong Barangay Esteban Laurente and LEYTEÑO PERYODIKO, the searcher recovered a coin purse that contained cash in different denomination amounting to P1420.00 including one (1) P1000.00 bill bearing serial number FC612558 prescribed by court for the said operation. Also recovered was a Vivo cellular phone.
The suspect tried to insinuate that the authorities planted the evidences, including the coin purse, in her possession. But when the authorities took the cellphone from its jelly case, a strip of yellow paper fell. The authorities were dumbfounded when they recovered another two (2) sachets containing same suspected shabu estimated to worth P2000.00 from the said strip of yellow paper.
When the evidences from the cellphone were recovered, the suspect stopped her blabbering and instead asked the police how to apply for plea bargaining agreement.
Charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) were filed against the suspect who was temporarily languished inside the detention cell of PS1.
