A Grade 9 student tagged as the top Most Wanted Person in Southern Leyte was arrested in a joint operation 4:30PM of February 2 at Brgy. Garrido, San Juan, Southern Leyte.
The said operation was conducted by the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Southern Leyte Provincial Police Office (SLPPO-PIU) and the local police.
San Juan Chief-of-Police (COP) Police Lt. Joel Carbonilla described the suspect as a 17-year old student and a resident of the said town.
The arrest was by virtue of five (5) Warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. Jacinto B. Elle, Presiding Judge, RTC Branch 26, Bulwagan ng Katarungan, San Juan dated October 7, 2021 for the crime of Rape, docketed under Criminal Cases Nos. 2867, 2868, 2869, 2870 and 2871 with no bail bond recommended.
The cases stemmed from the complaint of another minor who accused the suspect of raping her multiple times.
The arresting police read the Miranda doctrine to the suspect who didn’t resist arrest and immediately brought to the San Juan Municipal Police Station for booking and temporary detention
