PRO-8 sends troops for Samar peacekeeping mission

Two hundred and thirty five (235) personnel of the Basic Internal Security Operations Course (BISOC) were deployed to the Province of Samar to intensify the peacekeeping measures in the area months before the May 2022 National and Local Elections.


The said personnel were officially deployed through a send-off ceremony spearheaded by Police Regional Office (PRO-8) Regional Director Police Brig. Gen. Bernard M. Banac held at the BISCO Training Site, Brgy. Rizal II, Babatngon, Leyte last March 1.


“This send-off ceremony is a fitting testimony of our aspiration for a successful conduct of the national and local elections. Render your election duties and responsibilities with diligence especially where our services are much needed. We have certainly learned our lessons from the past elections. Now, we are prepared more than ever. Let us do our job well,” Gen Banac pointed out.


The 235 personnel will be deployed to the Calbayog City Police Station, Gandara Municipal Police Station, Sta. Margarita MPS, Matuguinao MPS and San Jorge MPS or the CAGASMAS area and be part of the Regional Special OperationsTask Group - Samar purposely for peacekeeping mission.


The ceremony was also attended by Regional Special Training Unit (RSTU-8) Training Manager Police Col. Dionesio DC Apas, Jr.; Regional Personnel Records and Management Division Chief Police Col. Hector F. Enage; Regional Operations Division Chief Police Col. Michael P. Palermo; Regional Logistics, Research and Development Division Office-in-Charge (OIC) Police Lt. Col. Roderick P. Condag; Regional Community Affairs Development Division Acting Chief Police Lt. Col. Jose Manuel C. Payos; Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division OIC Police Lt. Col. Romeo S. Santander and Regional Pastoral Office Police Lt. Col. Teddy C. David.
