PRO-8 arrests 829 Most Wanted Persons, 15,669 other law violators in 2021

Eight hundred and twenty-nine (829) Most Wanted Persons and 15, 669 other law violators stuffed the Police Regional Office-8 (PRO-8) accomplishment report for 2021.


The year-round intensified implementation of Warrants of Arrests led to the arrest of the said MWPs from the regional, provincial, city and municipal levels. Some 5, 084 other wanted persons were also arrested.


In the intensified war-on-drugs, 664 drug personalities were arrested while yielding P12, 756, 274.94 worth of confiscated illegal drugs.


In the anti-illegal gambling operations, 3, 863 individuals were arrested together with P2, 517, 549.50 worth of confiscated bet money.


Five thousand eighty-one (5, 081) were caught doing illegal fishing operations with a hefty 333, 348, 934.00 worth of confiscated fish and fishing paraphernalia.


In anti-illegal logging operations, 753 personalities were arrested with together with P10, 787,503.00 worth of confiscated products.


In Oplan Kontra Boga, 224 illegal gun owners were arrested. Authorities were able to recover 51 and confiscate 261 different firearms. However, there were 1, 667 different firearms turned-over to the authorities.


For 2021, PRO-8 also recorded the surrender of 173 members of Communist Terrorist Group. Along with their surrender, they turned in their firearms and ammos.


PRO-8 Regional Director Police Brig. Gen Rommel Bernardo A. Cabagnot is elated for all the operational accomplishments of the whole PRO. "Yes we may have done enough for the past year but there is still so much to be done with our intent to make EV an orderly and peaceful place to live in ," RD Cabagnot stressed
