Peerless Brigade conducts info drive to college students

| October 23, 2022

Around 500 Senior High School students and 200 college students attended the Information Awareness Drive against the CPP-NPA-NDF’s Exploitation of Students and Infiltration of School Campuses held last October 10 at the Western Leyte College Gymnasium.

The said info-drive was conducted by the 802nd Infantry (Peerless) Brigade of the Philippine Army and was heartily participated by the student of WLC spearheaded by it College Student Supreme Council (CSSC) President Raine Catherine Dimco.

According to Dimco, “This endeavor will guide us and our fellow students to be wary of the deceptions being undertaken by the CPP-NPA-NDF allied organizations in our school. “These advocacies of us will not end this day, rather will last until we reach other schools, colleges and universities, and even the out-of-school youth. “We will ensure that no one among our students and youth will be recruited by the CPP-NPA-NDF”.

The said info-drive collaborated with the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency – Regional Office (NICA-8) in support of the Situational Awareness and Knowledgeable Management Cluster (SAKMC) of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC). It is also in conformity with the advocacy of Vice-President Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio, the concurrent Department of Education Secretary, of preventing the CPP-NPA-NDF’s recruitment of students and infiltration of academic institutions.

The 802nd IB discussed the process of recruitment of students into legal school organizations using the Agitate/Arouse Organize Mobilize (AOM) concept where their potential recruits join mass actions. Then the communists will spot their potential recruits from among those agitated.

They will then conduct teach-in activities and indoctrinate these recruits before conducting their subversive teachings. These include Pambansang Demokratikong Paaralan (PADEPA 1-3), Mailkling Kurso sa Lipunan at Rebolusyong Pilipino (MKLRP), Espesyal na Kursong Masa (ESKUM) for farmers, women, and youth, Araling Aktibista (ARAK), and Our Urgent Task (OUT) among others.

These recruits will then join rallies and mass actions before they will undergo community exposure and immersion into the CPP-NPA-NDF’s consolidated or organized mass base area. There, recruits will be integrated into the masses. When everything is said and done, they will be recognized as full-time members of the CPP-NPA-NDF and will be directly involved and participate in the armed struggle.

The CPP-NPA-NDF has two forms of struggles, the discussion continued; parliamentary and armed. The parliamentary struggles are being perpetrated by the NDF while the NPA took care of the armed struggle. The CPP oversees the implementation of the so-called National Democratic Revolution (NDR) which aims to seize political power using parliamentary and armed struggles.

802nd IB Commanding Officer (CO) Colonel Noel A. Vestuir said “The conduct of this information awareness campaign would surely save the future of our children since we could prevent the deceptive recruitment of students in our schools. It could not be denied that many NPA-armed regulars are former students who abandoned their studies, and disregarded their parents, some of them are still hiding underground and some of them are dead. If they are aware that they were only deceived by their recruiters in school, they could have been saved and like others, they could have been successful and productive citizens of our country.”
