The Philippine Drug Enforcement Group together with the Hilongos Station Drug Enforcement Team nabbed a street level individual (SLI) during a buy-bust operation around 2:32PM April 13 at Brgy. Central, Hilongos, Leyte.
Hilongos Chief-of-Police (COP) Police Major Dexter Edillo identified the suspect as Rex Rubion, 33, married, jobless and a resident of the said barangay.
Recovered from the suspect was one (1) sachet containing suspected shabu procured by an operative for P500.00. During the body search witnessed by Sangguniang Barangay member Hon. Gilbert R. Barbusa and media representative Eric F. Justiniane, the searcher recovered one (1) medium sachet containing same suspected shabu estimated to weigh two (2) grams and a street value of P13, 600.00. Another four (4) small sachets of same suspected shabu were recovered estimated to value P2000.00 and one (1) P500.00 bill bearing serial number KN107804 prescribed by court for the said operation.
The suspect was believed to be under the influence of illegal drugs when apprehended.
Charges to violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) are being filed by the operatives against the suspect who was temporarily detained at the Hilongos Municipal Police Station.
