Police force from four (4) towns in Southern Leyte devastated by Super Typhoon Odette received assorted relief items from their colleagues in the Northern Samar Police Provincial Office (NSPPO), January 20.
Coined as ‘Bag of Love’, the relief packs worth P364K endured more than ten (10) hours of travel from the provincial headquarters in Camp Carlos Delgado, Catarman, Northern Samar. It was delivered and distributed personally by the NSPPO team led by their Provincial Community Affairs and Development Unit Chief, Police Lt. Col. Bonifacio O. Ricafort, Jr., to the adopted municipal police stations from the towns of Libagon, Sogod, San Juan and Saint Bernard in Southern Leyte.
Each ‘Bag of Love’ consists of bottled water, packs of rice, biscuits, canned goods and other essential items.
Overwhelmed upon receiving the bulk of relief goods, the personnel of four adopted MPS expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the men and women of NSPPO.
Acting Provincial Director, Police Col. Alfredo J. Tadefa disclosed that while the activity aimed to help the typhoon victims, it also foster a strong partnership in the police community. He also extended gratitude to the compassionate response of his personnel and the active support of the Northern Samar-Officers Ladies Club, Biri National High School Alumni Association and the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of the Municipality of Pambujan.
“Napakataba ng puso na makita ang mga mukha ng ating kapwa police officers na nakangiti habang tinatanggap ang mga ayuda. Masaya kami na nakapag-abot ng tulong at suporta upang kahit paano ay makapagpagaan ng kanilang pasanin at makatulong sa kanilang pagbangon," Col. Tadefa said.
