A very crafty and elusive target finally fell into the authorities during a joint buy-bust operation by the PDEA-Leyte and the Station Drug Enforcement Team of the Matalom Municipal Police Station around 10:55AM June 8 at Brgy. Cahagnaan, Matalom, Leyte.
The suspect was identified as Domingo Caberte, alias Lupin, 42, married, a scrap dealer, and a resident of the said barangay.
Recovered from the suspect was one (1) sachet containing suspected shabu procured by an operative for P500.00. During the body search witnessed by Brgy. Chairman Sulpicio L. Cabanda, Brgy. Kagawad Aubrey P. Pepe and media representative Eric F. Justiane, the searcher recovered a black wallet marked Blueberry that contained a coin purse, personal identification cards, and cash of different denomination amounting to P2, 139.00 including one (1) P500.00 bill bearing serial number AK186446 prescribed by court for the said operation.
Also recovered was a Motorstar 110 motorcycle.
The suspect just held his head low and refused to answer queries from the media.
Charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA9165) were being filed by the police at the Provincial Prosecutors Office in Hilongos, Leyte against the suspect.
