A twenty-five (25) minute fire burned an establishment within the house of a businesswoman around 12:10PM June 17 at Brgy. San Isidro, Sogod, Southern Leyte.
Fire Marshall SFO4 Tereso F. Orias identified the house owner as Almera Labasa, 66, married, a housewife, and a resident of the aforementioned barangay.
The Sogod Municipal Police Office disclosed that a phone call from a concerned citizen informed their office of an ongoing fire at the said place. The police immediately responded to the area and upon arrival saw the fire already engulfing the establishment.
Initial investigation conducted by the local fire bureau disclosed that the blaze started at the kitchen area of the said house and since it was made of light materials, it quickly spread to the establishment. The quick response of the local fire bureau fortunately controlled the fire within 15 minutes before SFO4 Orias declared fire out around 12:35PM.
Thorough investigation was conducted by the local BFP while no injuries were reported. The damage was pegged at around P250, 000.00.
