A former municipal councilor of Jiabong, Samar is currently recuperating his wounds from gunshots after an unidentified riding-in-tandem shot him while he was repairing a pickup truck around 3:20PM January 28 at Brgy. Tagbayaon, of the said town.
Jiabong Chief-of-Police (COP) Police Lt. Elbest S. Taping identified the victim as Rolando Cabadsan, 56, married, a businessman and formerly served as municipal councilor in this town.
Case investigator Police Master Sergeant Charles Coprado in a telephone interview disclosed that the victim was fixing a Mitsubishi pickup when two (2) unidentified riding-in-tandem suspects suddenly shot the victim twice. The suspects were wearing helmets and face masks and after the shooting fled southwards.
Sergeant Coprado revealed that the victim was hit at his back and at his forehead. He was rushed to the Catbalogan District Hospital but was later transferred to the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center due to the severity of the wound at his back. As of press time, victim is fast recuperating.
SOCO personnel who processed the crime scene recovered two (2) spent shells of .45 caliber.
A thorough investigation in now conducted by the local operatives to identify the suspects and know the motive of the shooting.
The victim served as municipal councilor until 2010 but quit politics and preferred to continue his auto repair shop.
