A drug convict who finished his sentence in 2019 is heading back to prison after operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Station Drug Enforcement Team nabbed him in a buy-bust operation around 5:28PM February 4 at San Vicente St. Poblacion, Kananga, Leyte.
PDEA-8 Regional Director Edgar T. Jubay identified the suspect as Arthur Ablen, 45, single and a resident of the said barangay. The PDEA tagged the suspect as High Valued Target and on the Priority Target List.
Recovered from the suspect was one (1) sachet containing suspect shabu procured by an agent for P500.00. During the body search witnessed by a barangay official and a representative from the media, the searching agent recovered a Marlboro cigarette pack at the waist of the suspect. The cigarette pack then yielded another six (6) sachets of suspected shabu estimated to weigh around two (2) grams and could worth P13,200.00. Also recovered was the P500.00 bill bearing serial number EL070128 prescribed by court for the said operation.
The suspect admitted being a convicted person after he was arrested during a buy-bust in 2015. He said he has served his minimum sentence and was released from prison in 2019. The suspect however refused to issue statement on the evidences recovered from him.
He is temporarily detained at the Kananga Municipal Police Station while charge to violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) are being readied against him.
