The police force of Capoocan, Leyte launched a thorough investigation over the death of a man found floating in the fish port of Brgy. Pinamopoan around 1:30PM, February 24.
Capoocan Chief-of-Staff (COP) Police Major Delfin Dingky Boy M. Bardillon identified the victim as Jay Arboso y Colibao, 45, married, jobless and a resident of the aforementioned barangay.
The police said to have received a telephone call from a concerned citizen informing their office of an alleged drowned male at the said fish port with sustained wounds to his left eye. Responding to the information, the police force witnessed the lifeless body of the victim at the shoreline after being rescued by local residents.
Initial investigation revealed that a certain Cyril Untoca y Arboso 11, Grade V pupil, and a resident of the said barangay saw the victim floating in the sea while she was swimming together with her friends. The victim is known to spend his pastime swimming such that his bereaved family and relatives were surprised to learn his demise.
The Capoocan police immediately requested SOCO assistance to process the crime scene and for further investigation.
The victim’s cadaver was later brought to a local funeral parlor.
