Construction worker yields P170K shabu

Illegal drugs weighing around 25 grams and a street value of P170, 000.00 were confiscated from a suspect during a buy-bust operation evening of July 29 at Brgy. San Pedro, Albuera, Leyte.


The said operation was jointly launched by a composite team composed of elements of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group – Special Operation Unit (PDEG-SOU-8) led by Police Lt. Jose Rodel Villaruel together with the Albuera Municipal Police Station headed by Police Major Miguelito Bocado, the RIU-Ormoc under the direct supervision of Leyte Provincial Police Office (LPPO) Provincial Director Police Col. Edwin C. Balles and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Leyte Provincial Office.


The suspect was identified as Dorotheo S. Piamonte, 40, single, a construction worker, and a resident of Brgy. Talisayan, Albuera, Leyte.


Recovered from the suspect was one (1) small sachet of suspected shabu bought by a poseur buyer from PDEG. During the body search, the searching cop recovered another three (3) medium-sized transparent sachets containing the same suspected shabu and the marked money used in the operation.


Also confiscated were the suspect’s wallet and motorcycle. His companion, a Kevin A. Rodriguez, 21, single, jobless, and a resident of Brgy. Balugo of the said town was also arrested.


Charges for violations of Sec. 5 and 11 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA9165) are being prepared against the suspects who were detained at the Albuera MPS.
