Boom truck operator electrocuted to death

A boom truck operator was declared dead on arrival after being electrocuted while heaving a load to a cargo truck around 8:30AM July 1 at the Leyte Electric Cooperative (LEYECO) III Sub-Station in Brgy. San Roque, Tunga, Leyte.


The victim was identified as Felino Militante, 36, married, a boom truck operator of Mark Anthony Junk Shop located at Sta. Elena, Iriga City, Camarines Sur, and a resident of Sta. Cruz, Donsol, Sorsogon.


Tunga Municipal Police Station disclosed that they received a phone call from a personnel of LEYECO III informing them that an electrocution incident transpired in their office compound. The police immediately responded to verify the report. Upon arrival, the victim was already brought to the Carigara District Hospital for medication aboard a gray Ford Raptor with conduction sticker C4-H071 by Mr. Mark Anthony Exaltacion, married, employer of the victim, and a resident of Sta. Elena, Iriga City.


Accordingly, attending physicians Dr. Jurgen Pore and Dr. Elisa Nedruda, however, declared the victim dead on arrival.


A witness identified as Luis Quinilayo, 38, single, co-worker of the victim, and a resident of Ligao City, Albay told the police that the victim was operating a white Isuzu boom truck with plate number CBB-1232 to lift and load the metal scraps to their cargo truck but accidentally hit the High Voltage Primary Line of LEYECO III resulting to this electrocution.


The victim’s body was brought to a local funeral parlor and was brought to their hometown in Sorsogon last July 2.
