Assistant tourism officer falls in buy-bust

Four (4) sachets containing suspected shabu were recovered from an LGU employee during a buy-bust operation afternoon of January 24 at Brgy. Pawa, La Paz, Leyte.


Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Director Edgar T. Jubay identified the suspect as Martin Aledro y Pamen, 49, single and a resident of the aforementioned barangay. He is the Assistant Tourism Officer of the Municipality of La Paz and was tagged as a High Value Target.


Recovered from the suspect was one (1) sachet containing suspect shabu procured by an agent worth P500.00. During the body search witnessed by barangay officials, media and representatives from the justice department (DOJ), the searching cop recovered a brown hang pouch that yielded another three (3) sachets containing suspected shabu estimated to worth P1500.00. Also recovered was a P500.00 bill bearing serial number PT 085351 subscribed by court for the said operation.


The suspect didn’t issue statements to the media. He is temporarily detained at the PDEA custodial facility in Palo, Leyte while charges to violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) are being readied against him.
