Twenty-one (21) boat hulls and other lumber estimated to worth around P253, 200.00 were recovered by the police around 3:30AM March 4 along the seawaters of Brgy. Alegria, San Isidro, Northern Samar.
San Isidro Chief-of-Police (COP) Police Capt. Emmanuel Guardiano disclosed that the discovery of the said hot lumber resulted from the Localized Anti-Criminality Action Plan (LACAP) implemented by the local operatives along the shorelines of the municipality.
Aside from the 21 boat hulls which were estimated to worth P207K, also recovered were thirty-eight (38) pieces of 2x6x18 lauan lumber totaling 684 board feet and estimated to worth P34, 200.00; and two (2) pieces of 2x8x50 lauan lumber totaling 100 board feet and estimated to worth P12K. All recovered hot lumber alongside the hulls are estimated to worth P253, 200.00.
The recovered forest products were brought to the San Isidro Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition prior to turnover to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
