Two (2) members of the Communist Terrorists Group (CTG) voluntarily surrendered to the Northern Samar Police Provincial Office (NSPPO) around 6AM June 15 at Brgy. Somoroy, Lope De Vega, Northern Samar.
The successful police operation initiated by 1st Northern Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company (1st NSPMFC) Force Commander Police Lt. Col. Edwin M. Oloan, Jr., resulted to the surrender of two (2) CTG members.
The surrenderees were identified as Alias Syete, 30, married and a resident of Brgy. Paguite, Lope de Vega; and Alyas Onyok, 24, single, and a resident of Brgy. Curry, Lope de Vega. Alyas Syete is a PSR listed under FC-2, SRGU, Squad 1, SRC EMPORIUM while Alyas Onyok is a PSR listed under Squad 2, Island Guerilla Unit (IGU), Island Operational Command, SRC LEVOX operating in the island province of Leyte.
Along with their surrender were their firearms which include one (1) unit Taurus cal. 45 with serial number 239813 with one (1) magazine and five (5) live ammo; and one (1) unit Winchester 12-Gauge shotgun with serial number 1114828 with five (5) live ammos.
The surrenderees are presently under custody of the 1st NSPMFC to check and verify if there have been existing warrants against them and to further facilitate their enrolment to the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
“The continuous number of CTG surrenderees is proof of joint efforts of AFP-PNP and the people to end the local communist armed conflict. With this, we will not hesitate to use all available forces with the active support of the community in addressing every possible CTG threat in our areas,” Police Lt. Col Oloan Jr said. “For those brother and sisters who (are) still clinging to an unrealistic and wrong doing of the Terrorist Group, I recommend you to surrender and avail the suitable benefits for you, to rebuild your normal lives with your families under the government’s E-CLIP, instead of dying with no good at all.”
